I'd say it was less the use of them as 'justification' and more the fact that people started F'ing with their connections, thus bringing down connectivity for EVERYONE, due to sheer stupidity. This community is a blight unto itself. People scream about hackers in one breath, then in the next boast about how they've manipulated their connection to give themselves an unfair advantage.
The community will be the death of this franchise.
