I was playing for the first time since this update. Doing quite well too. On my 4th match I got kicked out and it said lost connection to host. Then it started searching for a match. I backed out to adjust some classes. Then I got kicked offline with a message about the servers being down. Tried to get connect to ghost online 3 times with the same message. On the 4th try I got a Nintendo Wii U message saying it couldn't connect to the internet.
After trying a few more tries I backed out and did a connection test. It failed. I tried several more times. Connection test keeps failing. I tried rebooting EVERYTHING thing. No luck. I swapped ethernet cables and lan adapters. No luck. Tried Wireless. Still failed. Plugged directly into my modem. Still failed. Doesn't matter if I setup the connection myself, or leave DHCP on and let it auto obtain everything. It still fails wired or wireless. My internet works fine. I mean I'm on the laptop right now, but the Wii U won't connect.
There's nothing left to test as far as equipment goes. The Wii U just isn't connecting. Could Nintendo Network be down? I tried searching on google but didn't find anything about that.

Anyone else having a similar issue? By the it's 3:30am CST here in the U.S. I don't know how many of you are still awake...
Edit: Can't access www.nintendo.com. I guess it's possible that is related.
