No platform is definitive, regardless of its power. The PS4 and Xbox One are generally the same console in terms of power. One might be better graphically, but the differences between the two aren't groundbreaking.
If people disagree because Sony is outselling Microsoft, then you also have to realize that its only been 6 months since both next gen systems were released. Last I checked, a preferable platform was decided a few years into the life cycle, and it was based on the games, not the graphics.
Forgive me for saying this, but did you not hear of the saying, "it's not the size that counts. It's how you use it"?
