The answer to lag is speed of light data transfers on global scale.

... they aren't the "answer".
Dedicated servers only eliminate host migrations. There will still be the need for lag compensation.... it's the internet.
Hence, your experience aside... you're making a poor decision based on worse information. I say this because of your presumption of what dedicated servers do/do not do to latency versus listen servers (that's what they use now). If you don't even know what they do... and are making a decision based on that... it's a poor one.
I prefer to discuss things without hyperbole... and the dedicated server comments such as yours are hyperbole.
